ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT - 2009
Pelistry Cottage is set on two floors.
- All bedrooms are on the first floor which is at the top of a flight of shallow stairs -11 in total with a rise of 7"
- Room 4 has a step into it with a rise of 8.5". It also has a step up into the shower of approx 7"
- Room 3 has a bath which is 22" high. You need to be able to step into this to use the shower which is within the bath
- There are banisters on either side of the stairs
- The dining room is on the ground floor
- There is a small front door step
- A list of local taxis is available
- Assistance with luggage is offered
- All rooms have remote control TV (with Freeview, Ceefax/teletext)
- All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities with cordless kettles
- All rooms have raised wall sockets as well as at skirting level
- A variety of dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notification
- A designated guest fridge is available for medications/insulin/special foods etc
- Fire alarm is audible only
- Emergency information can be communicated verbally on request
- Copies of all public transport timetables are available
- The bus stop for the community bus and heliport bus is outside the front door
- please don't let this statement make you think it is noisy at Pelistry Cottage
- it is more convenient than a nuisance!
- Skybus taxis will bring you directly to the cottage
- We are a 5 minute walk from the quay where regular boats travel to the off islands
- Wireless internet is available is some rooms including the dining room
- Mobile phone coverage is limited. Vodafone is the best, but Orange and O2 do have some coverage
